Privacy Policy
This policy explains what information Mort The Barber LLC ("we") collects through mortthebarber.com, the booking app (on the web, iPhone and Android) and our appointment messages, how we use it, and the choices you have.
Information we collect
- Account details: your name, email address, password (stored only in scrambled form) and, if you choose, your phone number.
- Appointments: the services, dates and times you book, and their status (booked, completed, cancelled or missed).
- Mobile visits: the address and phone number you give us for a visit to your location.
- Membership and loyalty: your Presidential Club level, included haircuts used, and loyalty points.
- Payments: handled by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number; we receive a record that a payment or membership charge succeeded.
- App notifications: if you allow them, a code that lets us send reminders to your phone.
How we use it
- To book, confirm, remind you about and manage your appointments.
- To run your membership, included haircuts and loyalty points.
- To contact you about your appointments, including by text if you opted in.
- To keep the service secure and prevent misuse.
We do not sell your information, and we do not use it for advertising. We do not sell or share your SMS opt-in data or personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.
Who we share it with
Only the service providers that run parts of our service, and only as needed for that purpose:
- Stripe (payments and memberships)
- DigitalOcean (hosting and our database)
- Resend (appointment emails) and Twilio (appointment texts)
- Expo (app notifications)
We may also disclose information if required by law.
Your choices
- Turn text reminders on or off anytime in the app under Profile, or reply STOP to any text.
- Turn off app notifications in your phone's settings.
- Delete your account anytime in the app under Profile → Delete my account, or by calling us. This removes your account, appointments, points and history, and ends any membership. Payment records kept by Stripe follow Stripe's own retention rules.
Children
Our booking service is not directed to children under 13. A parent or guardian should book appointments for children.
Text Message Terms
- What you'll get: if you opt in, Mort the Barber sends texts about your appointments only: booking confirmations and reminders (usually up to 3 per appointment). No marketing texts.
- How you opt in: by checking the text-reminder box when creating an account or in your Profile.
- To stop: reply STOP to any message. You'll get one confirmation and no further texts.
- For help: reply HELP, or call (810) 210-4134.
- Message and data rates may apply. Message frequency varies with your bookings. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
- We do not sell or share your SMS opt-in data or personal information with third parties for marketing purposes. Text opt-in data and consent are not shared with anyone except our text provider (Twilio) to deliver your messages.
